BEISBOLERITOS

Beisboleritos is a training program implemented in communities where boys, girls and adolescents are at high risk for recruitment. It seeks for the participants to develop and/or strengthen their abilities to proactively respond to threats in their surroundings. This is accomplished through the game of baseball, constructing life analogies between play on the field and socialization environments. Currently, the program is in effect in the Antioquia, Choco, Córdoba and Sucre departments benefiting 550 participants between the ages of 6 and 17.

COEXISTENCE AND PEACE

The Coexistence and Peace program sets the standard for using sports as a strategy to mitigate violence, promote peace and identify guidelines for establishing a public policy for Sports and Peace in Colombia. The program began with the 2011 national pilot program sponsored by COLDEPORTES, which seeks to prevent human trafficking, recruitment of minors and violence associated with drug consumption and promote territorial strengthening. Currently, close to 6,500 boys, girls and adolescents participate throughout the 121 territories in the country thanks to the collaboration of new allies such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – Chancellery, Ministry of Interior Affairs and Ministry of Justice.

FAIR PLAY AMBASSADORS

Through soccer, Fair Play Ambassadors promotes the FIFA golden rules of fair play and provides new role models for adolescents and youth in areas with high levels of social vulnerability and problems associated with drug trafficking and illicit activities. The methodology seeks for coaches as well as participants to prioritize behaviors that favor coexistence over competition, without negating that this is also an important part of training. This program has been implemented in educational institutions in municipalities in Arauca.

WAVES OF WIND

Waves of Wind is a formative accompaniment process for boys and girls who surf in San Bernardo del Viento. It seeks to strengthen community initiatives that favor coexistence and the development of life skills in the participants. Similar to other programs run by the organization, it employs the analogy method, which is based on the complete cycle starting with immersion in the water to standing on the board.
